If you are new to owning an oil boiler, I can run through the basic principles of care and operation as it is quite different from running a gas boiler.

If you are selling a property, retain any certificates and warranties linked to your oil boiler installation. 

Being OFTEC registered, I am part of the competent trade persons scheme.  This status means I can self-certify my installation so that you don't have to obtain building regulations approval from the local council, or private approved building inspector.

(Misplaced Building Compliance Certificates can be recovered from OFTEC at a fee).

I strongly recommend that you seek advice regarding any system that you suspect has not been installed by an OFTEC registered engineer.
